Firewall – remove and keep it away
Now for some of you folks who really use your BlackBerrys to there full potential may have the same problems that I had.
Now most technical issues can be sorted by crackberry.com and I found a solution.
BUT WAIT>>>> all links you will need will be at the end of this post, also please note this is how i did it and am happy, if you destroy your phone it is not my fault! do at your own risk!
The problems you will face are you will no longer be able to run desktop manager, so that brings me to my next problem. Backups!
Don’t worry, I have a plan, a beta plan by s4bb (to be reviewed when I have time) Please note this is a beta program so may contain bugs, I however have been using it and have not had any major issues! It is called DataBackup.
Now I learned the hard way, what I did was a backup, then remove firewall settings followed by a restore! can you guess what happened? once desktop manager was run the firewall locked back down.
So I give you my rundown on how To remove it policy and keep it off.
1 – Backup bbm contacts
2- For safety backup on Desktop manager for the just in case
3- Load and run DataBackup (backup to memory card)
4- Make sure any mail attachments are downloaded to your BlackBerry memory card for access at later times if needed.
4- Run crackutil (again links all at end)
WARNING Removing the it policy will restore the phones settings back to factory, you will however keep your applications!
5- Go to advanced settings and click reset it policy. Do not Unplug phone just let it do its thing, it will take some time so just let it do its thing. You will know when it is ready as it will be back to home screen.
6- After its finished rebooting Resent service books. (this is any mail accounts you have. still stuck see device switch article for more info)
7- Run databackup and put all your backed up data back to your phone. If you have any problems restore one application at a time.
8- Restore bbm contacts and send a broadcast to make sure all are still with you.
9- Set your phone up back to how you want it, things like wallpaper, font, ring tones, alarms etc.
10- Open mass storage on your phone and copy the data backup file from memory card onto your pc.
This is so you have a solid back up away from your phone in case of emergency! (A example would be that you flush your phone down the toilet! You would need to reinstall data back up on your replacement BlackBerry, copy the data backup file from PC back to phone. Then restore data.
Magic, you are free, but remember running desktop manager will put firewall back to lock!
click to goto s4bb site and download DataBackup
